onlyaymie.com is my new web presence. For many years, I was a proud resident at www.prism.gatech.edu/~gt4586e, but alas with graduation, those days ended for good. Two years later, I try to salvage the good from the old site and do a complete rewrite and restyle. A lot has changed since then. I now realize the evil of my gaudy backgrounds and gratuitous pictures that were so cool in the mid nineties. I suppose they are still cool now, but I try to refrain because, really, they don't matter. Plus, there are now stylesheets, ASP, JSP, and a whole host of new formatting options. Not to mention the plug-ins now available.
Anyway, back to me. I suppose something else that has changed since the first site back in 1996 is that I am a lot more wary of putting out too much personal information. Back then it was like me and my buddies (or college students in general) were most of the internet users. I put up whatever, and was excited to be tracked down by old friends. Now it just isn't the same. At least, it does not seem like that to me. I'll try to be forthcoming, but don't expect me to put it all out there like the old site.
The poems are going back up, categories renamed to protect the guilty. Or the innocent. Or to spare myself the embarrassment and confusion of knowing too many people with the same name. No ETA on them yet. With no more college T1 connection, my home computer usage has gone way down. So it all depends on when I pull them off the backups.
I am interested to see what else I have from the old site. It has been so long, I don't really remember it. Anyway, hope you find something worthwhile in this.
