Why onlyaymie?

Well, somewhere around my senior year of high school, I decided I needed an interesting alternative spelling of my name. I don't remember why, but it seemed like a great idea at the time. So after playing around with it for a while, aymie was what I stuck on. So through college, I used aymie as my email/alias/screenname. This confused many the student on how to spell my name, but I kept on with it. Unfortunately, when I signed up for Instant Messenger, aymie was already taken. I was pretty pissed, and said, "Dammit, I am the only aymie!". And so I was. And am. It has been my identity so long, I don't even really think about it much anymore.

Why the lobster poems? What's up with lobster?

In the original site, they had a different name. However, to reduce confusion, or to reduce recognition of subject, the name has been changed. The new name is sort of an old private joke, based on Friends episodes in the 95-96 season, back when Ross and Rachel were dating. There is your hint... go look it up.

Commentary on the poems.

It is very funny how a few years can really change your perspective on things. I read these now, and I can finally see how young I was. And how in just a few years, it all changed, and I had the freedom I wanted. And the happiness. It was all about having the chance and learning to do things my way. Or I started accepting and liking where I was. Or I just got lucky. Either way.

Why was the site not updated for over a freaking year?!?!?

Well, um... Not sure. Something about spending too much time working and not wanting to develop at home anymore. And I met a boy. And then we planned a wedding. And now we're married and have a house to take care of. Is that a good enough reason??
